We sell what we make, so yes, twelve of the thirteen ideas are ours; the thirteenth comes from an artisan we love. But we sorted them the way we would for a friend: by budget, saying who each one is for, and who it isn't for. 13The crochet tug from La Crocheterie
A training tug, hand-crocheted in Québec: an EVA foam ball wrapped in crocheted paracord, sturdy and local. It's Tempête's favourite toy: it's how we keep his attention on walks. An interaction toy between dog and human, not a chew toy to leave lying around. No wonder it keeps coming out: of our pockets on walks, and near the top of Google when you search for a tug made in Québec.
Wrapping that doesn't end up in the bin 🎁
Every gift can ship in a tartan fabric wrap sewn in our workshop ($14.99 to $29.99 depending on size). It gets reused Christmas after Christmas, and the ornament ties onto it with a ribbon. Zero paper, zero tape, and it looks better. Our parcels ship plastic-free too: a reusable PickPack box (send it back, get a $5 credit) or a compostable or recyclable envelope.

Giving a personalized gift without spoiling the surprise 🤫
For the ornament or the stickers
You need a clear photo of the dog, front or profile. Check the person's Instagram or Facebook: their dog is surely there. Otherwise, ask a family member to send you one "for no reason".
For the collar with their name
You need the name (easy) and the neck size (less easy). Discreetly measure their current collar with a tape, or look at the size printed on it. If in doubt, write to us before ordering: we'll help you pick the right size, because an engraved collar can't be exchanged.
If you don't know
The gift card. The person chooses the size, the colour and the name themselves, and the gift stays personalized.

We make Biothane gear, period. For the rest, here are small Québec businesses that do what we don't, and that we'd send you to (without having tested them all ourselves).
A hand-stamped tag: Boréal Home Studio, a small workshop in Parent, Haute-Mauricie. Brass tags stamped letter by letter with the dog's name and your number, sold on Etsy. Treats: Healthybud, a Montréal company making treats and meal toppers. For the sporty dog: Nahak, pulling harnesses and bungee lines sewn in Laurier-Station, with a gift certificate option. An experience: a canicross, cani-kart or dog-sled outing with Kinadapt's Nordic dogs in Rawdon.
Training. The trainers in our network offer group classes and private sessions, and that makes a gift too. Write to us with your region and what the dog is going through: we'll point you to the right person.

What Christmas gift should I give someone who has a dog?
The gift that lands hardest is the one made in the image of their dog: a tree ornament engraved with their portrait, stickers of their face or a collar engraved with their name. Créations Tanzo makes all three by hand in Québec, between $24.99 and $39.99. If you don't know the dog's size, the gift card stays personal: the person chooses themselves.
What is the deadline to receive a Tanzo gift before Christmas?
Order by December 14, 2026 for delivery before Christmas in Québec and Ontario. Orders are prepared in 24 to 48 business hours in Mascouche, then delivered in 2 to 5 business days. After December 14, the gift card arrives by email in minutes, and pickup in Mascouche is available by appointment.
How much does a dog collar personalized with the dog's name cost?
At Créations Tanzo, a Biothane collar engraved with the dog's name starts at $31.98: the collar from $25.99 (clip) or $26.99 (belt buckle), plus $5.99 for laser engraving of the name. Adding the phone number costs $4.99 more. Engraving is available on all our Biothane collars.
How do I get my dog's portrait engraved on a Christmas ornament?
Order the ornament ($29.99), send us a clear photo of the dog, front or profile, and we engrave the portrait and name into wood at our Mascouche workshop. Allow the upper end of the preparation time (48 business hours) and order before December 14.
Can I give a personalized gift without knowing the dog's size?
Yes: the stickers and the ornament have no size, only a photo. For a collar, discreetly measure the current collar or look at the size printed on it; otherwise write to us before ordering and we'll help you choose, because an engraved collar can't be exchanged. As a last resort, the gift card lets the person choose.
Are Tanzo gifts really made in Québec?
Yes. Collars, leashes, long lines, harnesses, tag holders and fabric wraps are cut and assembled by hand in our Mascouche workshop; the ornaments are engraved there and the stickers are printed, laminated and cut there. Biothane itself is webbing we buy from its manufacturer; we don't produce it.
Is the fabric gift wrap reusable?
Yes, that's the point: a square of tartan fabric sewn in the workshop from our leftover rolls, tied around the gift and reused Christmas after Christmas. Three sizes, from $14.99 to $29.99. Our parcels ship without plastic mailers.
What gift for a dog who pulls or doesn't come when called?
Not a gadget: training. The Tanzo Academy "Recall" lesson ($29.99, 13 online lessons, positive reinforcement, in French) can be given by email. And our Y-harness comes with a lesson on the front clip and loose-leash walking. No piece of gear teaches that on its own.
